The Arlington Civil Service Commission:
- Represents the public interest in the improvement of County personnel administration
- Advises the County Board, County Manager and Human Resources Director on personnel polices for the Competitive Service
- Conducts the final level of employee grievance appeal hearings
The County Board appoints Commission members. The Commission’s five members are County citizens with broad management or public affairs experience. (Note: County employees or paid office holders can’t become members.)

The Commission meets the first Tuesday of the month at 5:15 p.m., as needed.
